FRA staff work closely with clients to identify and understand their potential fire hazards, predict the consequences of fire growth and spread, and fully assess weaknesses that may be vulnerable to fire and its effects. We have performed numerous fire modeling analyses and research studies in order to refine and validate our methods. Our unique techniques have been applied on projects ranging from large commercial fuel storage depots to the design of custom fire protection equipment in offshore oil platforms. We provide fire and explosion modeling services for a wide-range of industrial operations, commercial, manufacturing, and residential facilities. In addition the FRA has extensive experience in the modeling and reconstruction of fire and explosion events. We can model fires and explosions involving solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels in a wide range of environments. We conduct experiments, perform computational fluid dynamics modeling, and analytical work all in order to gain a better understanding of the potential consequences. We utilize state of the art tools such as FLACS (FLame ACceleration Simulator) to simulate flammable gas release, dispersion, and vapor cloud explosion (VCE) blast conditions. Additionally we use software such as the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), Phast (DNV), and Breeze ExDAM.
